The Session
Creative Portfolio sessions are all about capturing your range and personality. We start by discussing your casting types and the looks you need. Over 2.5 hours, we'll work through multiple outfits and setups, from theatrical to commercial, dramatic to approachable. Professional coaching helps you access authentic expressions while maintaining camera awareness.
Step by Step
We discuss your casting types, the roles you're pursuing, and what your agents or managers have asked for. This shapes the entire session plan.
We sort your 5–6 outfits into a shooting order — typically moving from commercial to theatrical, casual to dramatic.
We start with brighter, more approachable lighting to capture your commercial range: friendly neighbor, young professional, relatable lead.
We shift to more dramatic, directional lighting. Here we capture intensity, vulnerability, and the character depth casting directors look for.
Throughout the 2.5 hours, we coach you through a wide range of authentic expressions — the subtle shifts that make an actor's headshot stand out from a corporate portrait.
We review the session together and narrow down to your 6 strongest images spanning your full range.

Common Questions About Creative Portfolio
What's the difference between theatrical and commercial headshots?
Theatrical headshots use dramatic, directional lighting and capture emotional depth — they're for film, TV drama, and stage. Commercial headshots use bright, even lighting and show approachability — they're for commercials, sitcoms, and print. Most actors need both.
Should I bring character-specific outfits?
Yes. Think about the roles you're being seen for: lawyer, teacher, cop, best friend, love interest. Bring outfits that suggest those types without being costumes. A blazer reads "professional." A leather jacket reads "edgy." A soft sweater reads "approachable."
Will these work for Actors Access and LA Casting?
Yes. We deliver files formatted for all major casting platforms including Actors Access, LA Casting, Casting Networks, and Backstage. Files are optimized for both upload quality and platform-specific size requirements.
